Eat, See, & Do Series: Los Angeles Area

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Known as the “City of Angels”, Los Angeles is a popular destination for entertainers, artists, and tourists. From the illustrious Hollywood Walk of Fame to the picturesque Runyon Canyon Hike, there is a daily adventure to be had around every corner. If you love trying unique dishes at nearby restaurants or catching award-winning performances at the local theatre, there are endless options whether you’re just visiting or if you’re a long-term Lincoln resident. Here are a few things to eat, see, and do in the Los Angeles area.

EAT: The masterminds behind Lou The French On the Block have brought a taste of France to the sunny streets of Los Angeles. Chef Laurent (“Lou”) and his wife Karima pride themselves on extreme attention to detail, while providing the finest French patisseries and coffee that have been “prepared with love and soul”. Visitors will find tartlettes, chouquettes, and more at this cozy shop in the Burbank/Toluca Lake area, just a short trip from the NVE apartment community. Planning a special event? Celebrate with amazing treats specially made by Lou, who has worked with companies such as Louis Vuitton and Disney.

SEE: If you enjoy sculptures, abstract paintings, and photography, head to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) to see all of this and more. The museum, just a short trip from La Cienega WeHo, regularly features unique exhibitions and tours in which professional guides focus on one artwork or the LACMA’s collection in full. Not to mention, the antique street lamps installed in front of the museum make for great Instagram pictures. If you find yourself in need of a quick bite between paintings, there are several on-campus dining options, including Ray’s & Stark Bar, which offers gourmet farm-to-table cuisine.
