If you’re feeling tired of staring at bare walls, these fun and stylish DIY projects will add some flair to your space. Best of all, you don’t have to be a seasoned artist to conquer these techniques. All you need are new materials and a creative eye.

Here are a few we’re particularly excited to try.

Blow Dryer Art

Create your very own vibrant and customized piece of art with this blow dryer technique from hello wonderful. Not only will you end up with a beautiful piece, but many find the process fun and satisfying. First, strategically layer your choice of tempera paints into a cup. Then, carefully pour the contents of the cup onto the canvas. Next, plug in a blow dryer and blow the air onto the paint moving it in your desired direction. You can lift the canvas and tilt it as well to direct the movement. The fun part of this DIY is that the result will be a satisfying surprise.

Yarn Wall Art

For those who love texture, this yarn wall art from DIY Candy will satisfy. First, you will need to collect a dowel rod, yarn of different colors of your choosing, and a piece of wood or cardboard for wrapping the yarn. After preparing cutting the dowel to the correct length, wrap your yarn around a piece of cardboard that is your desired length. Remove and then cut the ends and attach to the rod.

Tape Art

Another fun idea is to get creative with tape when painting. Before you begin or after you paint a base layer, lay down tape in a desired design. This can look like checkers, abstract lines, or straight lines. Then after painting on top, remove the tape and admire the clean lines.
