The results are in and we’re beyond excited to announce the winners of this year’s Tell Your Story contest. Once again, we asked our residents to share a charity that has impacted their lives. Whether they’re an employee, volunteer, or have benefitted from services, these organizations have uplifted the lives of Lincoln residents and beyond.

Heart2Heart

In first place, we have Heart2Heart which serves the aging community in a variety of meaningful ways. Along with helpful services such as delivering food, Heart2Heart also offers companionship and connects the elderly to volunteers. With a focus on providing support for social and emotional issues, Heart2Heart is a valuable support system for the aging population in Florida. We were amazed by their inspiring work. LPC learned about this organization through our resident Antonella from the Zona Village Apartments in Davie, Florida. She is their volunteer coordinator. Amazing work, Antonella!

Unity in Motion

Unity in Motion has an amazing mission — to unite diverse groups of young people to develop leadership skills and disrupt the cycle of segregation in the city of Milwaukee. As a result, young participants take their skills into the community to uplift and inspire a bright future. Lincoln resident William Wallace is a counselor at Unity Motion and we’re so happy he shared his experience.

The 7 Project

We loved hearing about the work that The 7 Project does from our amazing resident Austin Willis. Austin is a certified personal trainer who works at the 7 Project which is a not-for-profit gym that serves adaptive fitness clients. Austin and his fellow trainers utilize adaptive equipment and techniques to help a wide variety of clients, many of who have experienced spinal cord injuries, head trauma, or cerebral palsy. Thank you for your amazing work and for sharing your experience with us.

We once again want to thank everyone who has participated. All the stories we heard were so special and we can’t wait to see what next year brings. To learn more about how to serve your community with Lincoln, check out Lincoln Charities.
