Order Takeout or Delivery
If one of your favorite restaurants is still offering takeout or delivery, give them a call and order your favorite menu items. Now more than ever, it’s important to support the small businesses you love. Therefore, tip the amount you would if you were dining at a restaurant. When ordering delivery, ask the courier to leave your meal outside your front door. For takeout, make sure the establishment has a curbside pickup so you don’t have to go inside. For both methods, be sure to wash your hands after transferring food to plates from to-go boxes and bags.
Ambience is Key
For the ultimate restaurant experience, you’ll need to hone in on the ambience. First, make sure your apartment is sparkling clean! Next, add elements that you would find in a restaurant. We recommend thoughtfully-placed candles, dim lighting, and soft music. Be sure to set the table with everything you need along with a bit of pizzazz. If you’re imbibing with your meal, select restaurant-quality glassware and choose beverages that pair well with your cuisine of choice. If it’s gourmet pizza night, opt for a rustic Italian red wine. For Taco Tuesdays, blend a frosty batch of margaritas. Whichever route you take, make sure your ambience is set before the food arrives.
Invite Friends
One of the best aspects of dining out is the company you keep. Luckily, you can still dine with friends and family while social distancing via video calls. Before your dinner, place a laptop at the end of the table and have your friends do the same in their home. You can catch up, compare dishes, and even do a virtual cheers!
