We’re elated to announce that Lincoln is back again with its #LPCTellYourStory campaign. For the third year, we’re opening our ears to hear stories of warmth, care, and compassion from our Lincoln residents.
We’re once again asking participants to choose a charity that is close to their hearts. Whether you have been impacted by their work personally or have lent a helping hand for the cause, we would love to hear and possibly showcase your story. Check out our contest page for submission details.
But before we move forward, we want to look back at last year’s winning submissions. See below for organizations located throughout the nation that have touched the hearts of our residents.
First Place: PENCIL
Last year’s first place winner was Logan Matthews who supports PENCIL, a nonprofit organization that connects businesses with Nashville public schools. By linking organizations to schools, PENCIL has helped facilitate the donation of over $1.8M in supplies. PENCIL also helps students receive tutoring, mentorship, and job shadowing experiences with local businesses.
Second Place: Children’s Legal Center
Laura Hoover, the executive director at Children’s Legal Center, won the second place award after sharing her experience. The organization is focused on providing free legal services to children and families including refugees, asylum seekers, unaccompanied minors, and victims of human trafficking.
Third Place: I Am You 360
We were proud to present Desiree Cook of I Am You 360 with last year’s third place award. As the founder and executive director, Desiree has made it her mission to help support her community by providing employment, mentoring, and development opportunities for the youth.
We can’t wait to keep the ball rolling with a new round of inspiring submissions. If you have been impacted, volunteered, or work for an organization that is doing amazing work, we’d love to know! Submit entries here or contact us if you have any questions. Happy storytelling!
